Justice Prevails

Wed Jan 7, 2015
Daytona Beach to Titusville, FL

Last night was the first night we didn't need the heater. Perfect sleeping temperature. We got up at 6;30 to a little bit of chill and turned on the heater while we ate and dressed. In an hour or two we went from cool to too hot in the cockpit but, the air outside stayed nippy til late morning.

Got a call from the outboard people at the repair place. They said they thought they were going to have tear down the motor, and are not sure all work would be covered under warranty. Lee pondered that and the additional time the repairs would take.  About noon he called the manufacturer in Calif and said the motor probably had only been run about 10 miles and he could not afford the additional time extensive repairs would take, that he thought they should just give him a new motor, and let him be on his way.  They said they would consider that and give him a call later.  Later in the afternoon they called and said he could get the new motor. VICTORY We should get it tomorrow.

We played ring around the water at the New Syrma Beach bridge. Such a fun game. We say clumps of bushes with so many pelicans in them there seemed to be more pelicans than branches. Wild orange trees which I assume came from farmed ones was back when.

Unable to catch the 3:30 bridge opening at NASA Causeway in Titusville we came through at the next one which was 5. Immediately anchored in 10 ft of water and called it a day.  Going to be cold tonight 40s , tomorrow calling for 30s for lows ...burr. Our 7:30-5:00 boating day takes its toll, dog tired.  Night.
