Sea Turtle
Sat Jan 3, 2015
The day was warm and sunny once the fog lifted. We stayed at anchor in the morning at
Cumberland Sea Shore In the late morning we put the dinghy on the back of the boat and the patch we thought had fixed our hole sprung a leak and the tube started to loose air. We put it on and secured it to the boat as best we could and will try to patch it again later. We headed to Fernadina Beach shortly after noon motoring about an hour. Got our diesel tank and water tanks filled, dumped the trash and paid to pick up a mooring ball for the night.
Mark came over and he and Lee worked on our dinghy motor again. With the help of someone from the manufacturer they got it running for a while and think they have the problem pinned down, but have a plug they can not get to seat properly. They will give it another try in the morning. Fixed or not we will head south again by 9;30 or 10 tomorrow morning. Both Lee and Mark drew blood and were asking for bandaids, Apparently motor work is dangerous. They were tired and frustrated so quit for the day.
Judy asked us for dinner but that meant hand rowing Mark's dinghy from one boat to the other and back. Lucky for us Mark rowed.
Waiting for the fun part of this to start.
